Like Google’s Picasa2, it can be used to browse the images on your hard drives, and like IrfanView it can be used to apply special effects, adjust colours, resize images, convert file types, etc. Like its sibling, FastStone Capture, FastStone Image Viewer has a beautifully designed interface, which is intuitive and easy to use. Over the next few weeks, you will see these images begin to appear at FastStone Photo Resizer- Highly recommended by the Broadstreet blogger.FastStone Freeware Image Viewer 7.7 & PhotoResizer 4.4 Download Page I don't claim to have a great eye, but the image quality looks great, certainly good enough for a web site. (I didn't need all of them, but I might eventually, so I went ahead and converted them all now.) The storage for the images went from 2 DVDs to 65 MB. It took me 10 minutes to find the software, 5 minutes to download and install, and 30 minutes to convert over 1000 images. If I had resized and converted these images manually, it would have taken days. For me, most items were being converted from tif to jpg and then resized to 65%, and that resulted in approximately 98% space savings on average. The program tells you how much space you're saving as it converts the items. I'm pleased to say that I found FastStone Photo Resizer 2.6, which did exactly what I wanted and did it very quickly.

I needed to convert several hundred images from tif to jpg, and I'd like to re-size them while I'm at it. I went to and found a free product that might do what I needed. ProStores does not allow you to upload tif for product images, and now that I know how huge they are I wouldn't want to anyway. The images are huge and need to be converted to JPG. Unfortunately, all images in the vendor's catalog CD is all in tif format.

I am loading an online store with several hundred product images.
